TIMELINE OF EVENTS

SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May)

MARCH - Takes advantage of the Monarch Audience and gains a means of shard concealment (thanks to Clarke saving Unseelie shards in battle, both their shards are concealed full time). He and Clarke take on a quest from Waver. When the snow rolls in, he does his best to help unfreeze things.
APRIL - Bellamy continues sword and magic training and decides he really hates harps.
MAY - Starts off the month with Beltane. He takes his first trip into Seelie territory later, checking out Caer Glaem and the area around it. Starts looking into the Cult of the Fox via Seelies. Kills some swans because fuck swans.

SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug)

JUNE - Attends the tourney in Treun! Makes a second trip into seelie territory, this time centering on the Cothromach. Befriends some people with connections to the Cult of the Fox, begins the process of sending them undercover.
JULY - Third tip into Glaschu, where following the Cult of the Fox leads him to Daonna just in time to witness the hangings. When he returns to the third spire, he and Clarke get a decapitated surprise and become a targets of the Cult of the Fox.
AUGUST - Let's avoid sneaking around this month, ok? Ok! Works on more magic training, attends some festivals, and follows Clarke to the 8th and 9th Spires to help set up the spire clinics.

FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov)

SEPTEMBER - Fourth trip into Glaschu, Parrais. Wreath Festival! Starts learning Blood Magic from Clarke and they adopt a dog (which he names Rhea Silvia).
OCTOBER - Bellamy goes to Redgate midmonth, attends the opening of its theatre. Samhain: Bellamy and Clarke make offerings to the Black Shuck, and he manages to actually Dance and Have fun during the following festivities.
NOVEMBER - As a former delinquent, the prison break is of course Very Scary. Continues with magic and combat training.

WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb)

DECEMBER - Yule! the Hare Hunt!
JANUARY - Stuff and things!!! Another trip into Glaschu, checking on Caer Glaem before hitting up the Cothromach again.
FEBRUARY - Ostara Festival in Parrais. Visits the art gallery with Clarke. At the end of the month, falls asleep and canon updates, gaining memories of infiltrating Mount Weather and joining up with Maya inside.

SPRING IN 2,702 (Mar, Apr)

MARCH - Nearly gets killed in Parrais by the Cult via broken balcony. Zombies must die aka takes out some of the undead.
APRIL - Agrees to be bait for the Cult of the Fox in hopes of luring in members to capture for the Red Hand.
MAY - ¿ we just don't know ?

[He shakes his head, lifting his eyebrows in vaguely condescending amusement. But he listens to her anyway, because yeah - of course she's already got the answer.]

So we're winging it. [Honestly, Bellamy works well enough with spontaneity. If they have no idea how the Shuck is going to react, it means he has to think on his feet - and he's gotten very good at that.]

We'll just have to leave him a damn good offering. You thought about that yet too? [A beat.] Something for them.

[He doesn't need to specify who them is - but if this is a deity of death in the Drabwurld, it's not hard to fall in line as to what might be appropriate.]

We're winging it unless your inner mythology expert knows anything else about him that could give us a better idea of what we're facing.

( which, she figures, he doesn't; so she'll press on instead.

the offering had been something she had started to think about, but she hadn't really solidified anything yet. mostly vague ideas they might be able to turn into something more. )

I thought we could piece together things representing all four of them. And maybe something that we can put our blood magic into? It's also standard to leave food; meat, specifically.

Most of the stories involve staying away from the Shuck, not trying to get his attention. [So, yeah. Definitely winging it. At least making offerings is a concept he's familiar with.]

[Bellamy looks down and mindlessly scribbles, mulling over the suggestion and nodding along in agreement to the plan so far.] Meat's easy enough. [A beat.] Coins, for Cian. They can fit in most anything.

( she shrugs off the part about staying away from the Shuck because, of course, she's not about to listen to that piece of advice. )

Elaena had a set of symbols written all over her house. I could write one down for her. ( which- left Nuala. Clarke can barely face her people after what happened, even months later, so she can't really ask them. but she did meet her- ) Something from the La Llorona forest for Nuala.

[His expression softens when Nuala comes up, knowing this is the one that always hits Clarke hardest.] Some kinda plant? We could weave everything all together with vines or flowers.

[He thinks on the brief conversation he had with Edan, where the most prominent moment was simply them promising to kill each other if necessary. And he knows what to offer.] Edan gets a knife.

( the idea of plants and flowers stirs a memory, and it takes Clarke a moment to try and fully recall it. some lines from a poem during another of the world wars- ah. )

Poppies. We should see if La Llorona has poppies, there was a poem about them with fallen soldiers during one of the world wars. The first, I think? In Flanders fields, where poppies blow, between the crosses, row on row.

The first. [It's a quick, easy reply, one he barely even thinks about. He looks up at her, quietly.] The poem's how poppies got associated with the remembrance of fallen soldiers.

[And all four of them are fallen soldiers, as far as Bellamy's concerned, that much comes out silently too.]

I can probably ask one of the kids at the spire how to weave poppies into a crown and we can imbue that with our magic, then have everything else woven into it.

( which seems like a decent enough offering, if they want to talk to the Shuck about them as well as the Cult. )

No. That works. Crowns are symbols of authority. [A beat.] Maybe it'll help appease the Shuck too.

[It seems like a good combination - flowers for the dead, to the god of them in this world. If there's anyone's authority Bellamy can respect, it's Death's.] We'll just wait till the end of the month, fresh flowers and all that.

Okay, we can do that.

( which would normally indicate the conversation is over, except- well, Clarke lingers a little, clearly hesitant. )

I also have something to tell you. It's not bad or anything, I just... have been trying to wrap my head around it, so I haven't said anything.

[He raises an eyebrow.] Did a god contact you first?

( E Y E R O L L!!!! )

No. It's about when the General asked me to the Rook for the business meeting. ( a beat. ) She offered me a job.

[bellamy laughing alone with guns.gif.]

[There's still amusement in his face, but curiosity seeps in too; this could go in a couple directions.] What kinda job're we talking about here?

( her gaze edges away from him, uncertain, because she's still a little- embarrassed, maybe. at what the General offered her. to know she's done enough here to be warranted such a position. )

The position is the Midach of Dorchadas. She's making me the Minister of Health of the kingdom.

[He's impressed - that flashes on his face instantly. She's certainly done enough for it, and he can't help but be glad it's not something else, something more courtly.]

Do I need to start calling you Midach Griffin? [Ok one tiny asshole remark. But then he reaches out and squeezes her arm. It suits her. All she's ever wanted to do was save as many people as she could.] You deserve it, Clarke. If you want it.

[Because it's her choice. But if she wants it, he'll support her in this.]

God, no. Calling me princess is bad enough.

( she does look at him again though, her expression softening. it helps, hearing it from him. because it's one thing to have Saber say it, to offer it to her, but it's wholly different to have someone like Bellamy who knows her tell her that. )

I really do want it. I don't have to be at the castle for it, or in the court, I can use the role as I see fit to help people. It's more than I could have asked her for.

[He almost smiles - it's close, turning his expression all the more soft for it. He recognizes in her tone the value of this offer for her, and there's so much freedom in it. There're no court rules on the upfront, and it's just - it's something positive for her to sink her teeth into.]

Then do it. You did good with the spires. You'll do good here, too.

[He believes in that absolutely.]

I told her I'd send a letter once I decided.

( and- she will, later. )

But for now I think someone should go for a walk.

( -which immediately prompts Rhea to jump up from her spot on the floor, tail wagging furiously. Clarke grins down at her, reaching to rub at her ears as she glances back up at Bellamy. )

[Bellamy immediately looks down at Rhea - no point in commenting on the letter. He knows Clarke's already decided to accept it now.]

[The dog makes a whining, happy noise, and Bellamy sighs.] I was about to head out anyway.

[He's a dirty filthy liar, but Rhea is prancing around, and maybe all the talk of the Shuck makes him want to follow after them both.]
