I can't, I have something I need to find before we see everyone tonight.
( she's quiet for a moment, and there's the sound of a few pages turning before she speaks again. )
Either cast the rune and I tell you now, or you just wait and find out later anyway. ( the meeting, she means. the information will be shared there, but she'd rather give Bellamy the warning. )
[His stomach bottoms out; the panic rises. She can probably hear it, if only because he doesn't hide himself well.]
This is important. [But he shuffles around for his knife anyway, making sure she can hear the sound of him preparing to cast the rune so she doesn't hang up on him.] Make time.
[He slices open his palm, a lot harder than he'd intended to, before he slams the knife down on the table. He can't get pissed at her, not right now, so it slides out through other means.] It's important to me.
[He draws the rune on the table in front of him, blood from the wound dripping down his wrist. He might not have given in so soon, but he wants to keep her on the line as long as possible.] It's cast.
( she mirrors him, her own hand cut before a rune is written in blood across her opposite hand. healing it immediately, she doesn't bother answering his previous statement. )
[And suddenly he knows. He knows exactly why her tone has reached this point, and it only emphasizes his need to be with her immediately. But he can't teleport into the library, and she won't come home. He feels useless.]
How d'you know? [He believes her. Her voice attests to how true it is. But it's partway to make sure she's not in any danger right now herself.]
( it's likely she'll feel bad later; Jason was callous in telling her, and now she's being just as cold to Bellamy. but she can't afford otherwise right now, she can't. )
[He frowns a little, wondering if Jason himself has been a part of her current detachment in the wake of Saber's death too. The guy doesn't exactly have a good handle on emotions.]
[But he doesn't want to stop talking to her, even just over voice.]
[He doesn't flinch. He gets it. He's had that same urge to kill a Cultist, but his urge usually comes with anger not coldness.]
[Clarke's anger didn't always have the best results, but Bellamy still thinks it's better than this.] Clarke. I still need to talk to you, okay? Later.

Yeah, I'm home. Where are you?

( short, to the point. )
Cast a silencing rune, I have something to tell you.

No, where are you?
no subject
A place where you can't be, and I'm busy. ( meaning Morla's library. ) Cast the rune.

I need to see you before we go later. I'll cast the rune, but you need to come home when you're done. Please, Clarke.

( there's still just nothing to her voice, a blank slate. )
Tell me when you've cast it.

Cast it, Bellamy, I don't have time for this.

What are you trying to find now?

How to kill a Cultist. ( and that's it; there's no hint of debate, of reconsideration, just a flat out answer. ) I need to go. I'll see you tonight.

( and with that, the line cuts out; if he tries to call back, there will be no answer. )
