they'd spotted the Hart early on, and had been pursuing it through the forest near the third spire. while Clarke didn't mind going with Bellamy, that it served a purpose to hunt for their dinner for the next week, she didn't really enjoy the thought of actually hunting the Hart himself. not that it really mattered, because as soon as they were closing in, Clarke took a misstep, spooking the Hart into disappearing.
but not before he worked his magic, and a white wolf standing where Clarke had once been. Bellamy teasing her with Clarke nipping at his hands in retaliation aside, they return to the house otherwise fine. it's an adjustment, but Clarke heard stories about the last Hart hunt, that being turned into an animal isn't unheard of, and that she will change back by the end of it. (hopefully.) so she does her best to enjoy the fact that her strength and speed have surpassed what she has as a human, and her feral instinct is actually rather easy to embrace.
when they return to the hunt the following day, she's actually a much better companion to him as a wolf than she was a human, steps light and senses heightened, sticking close to Bellamy's side. )
